Q -- DENTAL ASSISTANT SOL RFQ 466-005 DUE 060799 POC Doug Fear, Contracting Officer, Phone: (606) 253-8894 The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a non-personal services contract(s) for two each Dental Assistant Services. Duties are to be performed at the Federal Correctional Institution, Elkton, Ohio. Duties include: provide clean, neat, and orderly clinic maintenance; chairside assistance to the dentist(s); clean, and sterilize instruments utilizing aotuclave; prepare sterile trays, packs, and sutures; properly store and maintain supplies in dental station; relay treatment instructions to patients; and submit written reports, evaluations, and operation plans for the dental department if requested by the Health Services Administrator. Due to the nature of this contract(s), all individuals working within the confines of the institution will be required to submit to security clearances. Individuals must be a licensed/certified Dental Assistant in the state of Ohio, and be a graduate of an approved Dental Assistant school/program. Medical liability insurance shall be required. This will be a competitive procurement with award(s) being made to the offeror(s) determined to be in the best interest of the Government with price and other factors considered. Services will be required during the normal work week, with a maximum of ten (10) sessions per week (1 session = 3 hours), for an estimated maximum of 1040 sessions per year, per Dental Assistant. The base year of the contract(s) will run for 12 months from the date of award with four (4) one year option periods for renewal. Anticipated award date is July 06, 1999. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be mailed approximately May 7, 1999 with an anticipated due date of June 07, 1999. It is anticipated that this solicitation will result in a Firm-Fixed Price Requirements type contract. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small business concerns.
