U-The DLA Administrative Support Center (DASC) has a requirement for a Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) internship program. This requirement will contract the services of the HACU to support the DLA student employment program and HACU. HACU shall be responsible for recruiting, selecting and managing the placement of HACU student interns who will perform educational projects. The purpose of the program is to encourage and support minority students currently underrepresented in the Department of Defense (DoD). This is an additional effort with respect to the Partnership Agreement signed between DoD and HACU. DLA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with HACU. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are bing requested and a written solicition will not be issued. This acquisition will be a firm-fixed price with one base year and 3 options years. The period of performance will begin June 7, 1999. This program will provide professional experience for Hispanic students that will enable them to make educated career choices; expose students to research and development, technology and administrative career opportunities in the Federal Government; supplement academic study with practical applications for students majoring in relevant fields and related disciplines.
