Intends to enter into a five year (with five, one year option years) firm, fixed price consignment requirements type contract. UNICOR is seeking to negotiate a long term partnership for the manufacture for lockers and storage cabinets. UNICOR is looking for contractor who can provide the following in order to develop a comprehensive locker and storage cabinet program: -- Opportunity for Unicor to modernize its line of lockers and storage cabinets. It is Unicor's intend to be able to eventually manufacture our partner's line of lockers and storage cabinets in order to offer our customers competitively priced quality products. We are interested in the possibility of vertical integration in this area, and may purchase various component parts unpainted as well as painted. -- Direct shipment in the event that the factory at Lewisburg, Pennsylvania is unable to ship for us on sales to GSA and to our customers. Currently, we have two GSA contracts for various types of lockers and storage cabinets as well as our usual various customers orders. -- Assistance in the development of tooling to fit the equipment at our metals factory in Lewisburg, Pennsylavania. -- Expertise in manufacturing techniques to ensure that this program in successfu; at the factory in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. -- All Destination pricing provided shipped to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. -- Preferably, powder paint coated product. Unicor would like the partner to match some of our paint colors. -- Ability to ship knocked down (KD) or stand up (SU) product to the factory. -- Some Americans Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant products. -- Various types of locking mechanisms, styles, and accessories so as to be competitive. -- Other complementary products in order to ensure that UNICOR is more competitive with the private sector manufacturers. -- Selected partner shall be able to meet commercial item description for all products currently on two GSA contracts.. -- All proposals shall address compliane with Unicor's "escape Proof Guarantee". -- Unicor will evaluate the proposals based on: Best Value criteria: Price; Past Performance; Marketability; breadth of Products;Quality of Products; Profitability to UNICOR; and Present manufacturing and product development capabilities. Product will also be evaluated on durability, function, style, and design. Uniocr will evaluate flexiblity in adapting to Unicor ordering, receiving, and factory procedures- maximum 60m calendar days delivery time (ARO) to our customers, maximum 45 calendar days (ARO) delivery time to the factory in Lewisburg, PA., various sizes ans styles of product in order to be competitve with other locker and storage cabinets manufacturers. Selected partner shall be able to provide some type of consignment, stock, or just in time services to Unicor. Performance will commence 30 calendars after contract award. Delivery of items will be to UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries, Inc., William Penn Road, Lewisburg, PA. The contractors technical representative is Dale Hoot, Lewisbuurg, PA.
