E-MAIL: weisz@eglin.af.mil, weisz@eglin.af.mil or keider@eglin.af.mil. A Program Research and Development Announcement (PRDA) No. MNK-99-0006, for the Fast Reaction Weapons Demonstration Program, is contemplated for release within 30 days. A Sources Sought Synopsis, number MNK-99-0004, was published in the CBD in December 1998. The main objective of the FRWD program is to demonstrate the high speed dispensing event, performance, sub-pack stabilization and desired deceleration of the sub-munitions/sub-packs, and sub-munition secondary dispense event. The focus of this program is on the packaging, dispense, dispense techniques and stabilization/deceleration methods, not the delivery platform. This program seeks cost sharing between the Government and offerors via Section 845, Other Transactions for Prototype. The estimated performance period of this effort is 32 months. This is a two phased program. The results of Phase 1 will determine if it is prudent to continue with Phase 2 of the program and continuance of the program is at the discretion of the Government. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear serious concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Routine or administrative questions should be directed to the Contracting Officer or Program Manager. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. Potential offerors are invited to contact AFRL/MN's Ombudsman, Lt. Colonel Gary Libell at (850) 882-2872 ext 3420, with serious concerns only. For further information concerning technical aspects, contact Mr. John F. Wolverton, Program Manager, AFRL/MNAV, 101 West Eglin Boulevard, Ste 234, Eglin AFB, FL 32542-6810, (850) 882-8877 extension 3373, wolverton@eglin.af.mil.
