The United States, Department of Energy, Richland Operations Office, is
currently seeking industry input on a draft RFP for workers'
compensation claims administrative services at the Hanford Site. The
Government anticipates utilizing a firm-fixed price contract based on
market research for these services. The Hanford Site contains
approximately 12,000 contractor employees who are segregated among four
separate prime contractors. The Hanford Site has a mixture of
industrial, office, environmental remediation and construction work.
These services are required for the administration and management of
new workers' compensation claims for those 12,000 contractor employees
and to retire pre-existing claims. Potential Offeror's should be
familar with the State of Washington laws and regulations regarding
workers' compensation. The draft RFP will be issued on or about April
12, 1999 and will be left open for comments, questions, or suggestions
until 3:00 p.m. (local time) May 7, 1999. Comments, questions,
orsuggestions received after the May 7th deadline may or may not be
reviewed and incorporated into a final RFP. After comments, questions
and suggestions are received the Government may or may not revise the
draft RFP based upon the comments and suggestions received. After
revisions are complete, if any, the Government may issue a final RFP or
if the revisions are so severe to cause a material change in the
requirement, the Government may elect to not issue a final RFP and
continue gathering information and facts. If you need a hard copy of
