The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Physical & Chemical Property Division intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Continum, 3150 Central Expressway,Santa Clara, CA 95051 for one (1) Surelite III-10 Q switched Nd:YAG laser system with Temperature stabilized second and third harmonic generators, 10Hz operation. This system will be installed into an existing optical table that contains substantial amounts of optical equipment. This laser system must be fully compatible with existing optical equipment because it will be used to pump an existing dye laser that sits on the current table. The dimensions of the laser must be less than 40 inches long and 15 inches wide to allow the system to fit into the available space within the existing table. The power supply dimensions will not exceed 26" x 14" x 22" (Depth x Width x Height) requiring no new utility facilities. The delivery for this requirement is estimated to be 45 days after receipt of order. FOB: Origin No solicitation package will be issued. A Request for Quote will be issued to Continum. The contractor is the only source for this laser system because they can meet the full compatibility, optical and dimensional requirements of this system based on previous knowledge of the existing optical table and its components.
