swanson@hap.arnold.af.mil. This is a notice of intent to negotiate a
contract with Northwest Research Associates, Bellevue, Washington, for
the design of an impact target alignment device. This device is to be
integrated with an 1,000-foot laser alignment system, which was
custom-built by Northwest Research, in the Hyperballistic G-Range
Facility at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. The device must position
a pitched and yawed target to with +/- 0.005 inches of desired
position at distances up to 300 feet. Must be compatible with a 20 mw
630 nm wavelength helium neon laser and provide a method for beam
wandering due to laser instability of air currents. Quantity -- 1 each.
Delivery will be FOB to Arnold Air Force Base. This synopsis is
approved for a sole source contract action as authorized in FAR 6.302-1
(supplies or services are considered to be available from only one
source). No solicitation package will be issued. However, all
interested sources may identify their interest but must provide proof
of capability to providean acceptable product by submitting pricing
data and an accurate description of the equipment offered. Only
responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of
determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will
not be made on the basis of responses received to this synopsis. If no
favorable responses are received by close of business 45 days from the
date this notice appears in the CBD, a contract will be negotiated with
