Belinda Jenkins, (253) 967-2151, ext. 242 Fort Lewis seeks to obtain a
cultural resource inventory to support the Army training mission at
Yakima Training Center. The basic survey location consists of 1088
acres with thirty-three (33) optional areas that include an additional
40,884 acres. The contractor must complete fieldwork on the basic work
before July 15, 2000 and on all options awarded before July 15, 2002.
The Contractor shall conduct an inventory of prehistoric and historic
cultural resources in the basic and any government-authorized optional
areas. The work shall take place in three phases: Intensive pedestrian
survey, Site protection recommendations, Analysis and reporting. Goals
for the study are to: Identify cultural resources within established
survey areas; Carefully assess site integrity and condition; Document
archeological resources within established survey areas and make
reasoned judgments of National Register eligibility; Develop an
assessment of site management needs, particularly site protection
needs; If additional cultural resource work is needed at sites,
including further National Register evaluation, protection, or data
recovery, identify what work is needed and the reasons for the need;
Document results of survey and recommendations. The proposed
procurement listed here will be issued as unrestricted. The size
standard is any concern including its affiliates with an average annual
sales or receipts for its preceeding three fiscal years not in excess
