USAID Morocco is issuing this notice to announce its intent to award follow-on work under Contract 608-C-00-94-00002 on a Sole Source basis to Chemonics International. Follow-on work will be for a period of six months with a total estimated cost of $168,000. The additional time period will be considered the last transitional phase of the TRM activity. This six month period will provide more time for ORMVAT staff to gain experience with all the new technologies on their own, but with the possibility of TRM assistance when needed. During this period, USAID and the contractor will be able to monitor and report on targeted results for 1999. Additionally, efforts during this limited extension phase would be concentrated on the activities experiencing some delay in their implementation: 1. Level Basins: With a six month extension, the TRM Activity will have an additional period to assist, train and monitor the very important initial stage of this effort. 2. Dissemination of new technologies to other irrigated perimeters and will help to assure the sustainability of TRM results on a national level. It is critical to the success of the activity that the US Government retain the services of Chemonics to successfully complete project activities in Morocco. There is no RFP for this additional work.
