The machine shall be an electrically powered, motor-driven unit with a vertical spindle. Movement of the primary axes (X, Y, and Z) of the machine shall be accomplished through application of high resolution AC digital drive motors and sufficiently sized linear guideways. The machine shall be equipped with mist coolant. A 3D-contouring controller 32-bit Computer Numerical Control (CNC) which is microprocessor based shall control the machine and be capable of handling three-dimensional linear, circular helical interpolation machining application requirements. The machine shall be of a unitized design that allows for ease of installation or relocation and shall not require a special foundation. Complete specifications will be provided with the solicitation. This solicitation is being conducted as a Commercial Acquisition. The Government anticipates award of a firm fixed price contract.
