TACOM/Petroleum and Water Business Group is requesting information
pertaining to commercially available cleanable or backwashable filter.
The product would likely be involved in either a straining capacity
prior to a multimedia filter or a polishing filter capacity following
the multimedia filter in a Reverse Osmosis Water Purification System.
The re-usable product would be retrofitted into an existing 3000 GPH
ROWPU, and operate in a variety of fresh, brackish and seawater
environments at flowrates up to 110 gpm. The current polishing
cartridge filter is 5 microns rated (90% efficient), while the strainer
is rated at 250 microns. Companies producing cleanable or backwashable
filters that meet the needs described above should fill out a Word
