The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) anticipates awarding a sole source contract to Environmental C&C, Inc. to design, construct, deliver, install, start-up, test, and provide training for a fluid bed accumulator and oxidizer system. This system will capture and destroy Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) produced from intaglio currency presses at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Washington, D.C. facility. The system shall be designed to intake 14,000 Standard Cubic Feet per minute of air, laden with low concentrations of VOCs (less than 100 ppm). The system required is a fluid bed regenerable, adsorption/desorption accumulator which uses beaded activated charcoal (BAC) capable of handling high boiler materials with a low attrition rate. In addition, the system shall be capable of withstanding high relative humidity and shall offer a high cost effective means for the capture and destruction of VOCs from the printing presses.
