58 -- INVESTIGATIVE EQUIPMENT SOL DEA-99-R-0023 POC Janice Brown, Contracting Officer, (202) 307-7803 58 -- COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT -- This is a sole source combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items will be utilized in this combined synopsis/solicitation. It is the Government's intent to make a sole source award to ORION Electronics, limited. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been certified, justified and approved. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is DEA-99-R-0023; award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. The synopsis/solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the FAR Circular 97-04. The standard industrial classification code (SIC) is 3669, and the small business size is less than 500. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is seeking to procure the following line items: Line Item 0001: TRACKING-GPS/Cellular with switching, paging and power saving capability, QUANTITY: Twenty-Five (25); Line Item 0002: Rechargeable lithium Battery Packs, QUANTITY: Twenty-Five (25); :LINE ITEM 0003: Battery Pack Chargers; QUANTITY: Twenty-five (25). The provision at 52.212-1, "Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items" is applicable to this acquisition. The provision at FAR 52.212-3, "Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items", is applicable to this acquisition. The provision at FAR 52.212.4, "Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items", is applicable to this acquisition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.
