NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ)584-23054-709 for One Year Extended Service and Support for the following: Item 1 -- SGS EV-1000 System, 1 each; Item 2 -- MGS EV-1000 System, 2 each; Item 3 -- WGS EV-1000 System, 1 each; Item 4- AGS EV-1000 System, 1 each; Item 5 -- ASF EV-1000 System, 1 each; Item 6 -- CSAFS EV-1000 System, 1 each and Item 7- LABSAFS EV-1000 System, 1 each. Statement of Work (SOW) will be issued with Request for Quotation. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from DataDirect Networks, Inc.,9201 Oak Dale Ave.,Chatsworth, CA 91311. DataDirect Networks, Inc. has proven to be the most effective in some of the remote locations for these systems and is the only known qualified source of such support. Therefore, it is recommended that equipment be purchased only from DataDirect Networks, Inc. Delivery will be on or before May 13, 1999. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
