The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), is releasing a NASA Announcement of Opportunity (AO 99-OSS-01), entitled Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory (STEREO). This opportunity solicits flight investigations suitable for objectives of the STEREO mission of the Office of Space Science. Participation is open to U.S. Principal Investigator-lead Teams with Co-Investigators from all categories of U.S. organizations, including industry, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, NASA centers, and other Government agencies. Proposals from STEREO science investigations will also be considered under a no exchange-of-funds basis from non-U.S. Principal Investigators and from investigators proposing non-NASA OSS Missions of Opportunity. This solicitation will be open through July 28, 1999. Upon the release date, specific guidance for proposal preparation will be available electronically through the selection "Research Opportunities" on the OSS homepage at: http://spacescience.nasa.gov/research.htm.
