of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate on a sole
source basis based upon the authority cited in 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and
FAR 6.302-1(b)(1) with Infodata Systems, Inc., 12150 Monument Drive,
Suite 400, Fairfax, Virginia 22033, for field maintenance services for
a one year with options to extend the term for two (2) successive one
year period. Inquire/Text is a proprietary software product of
Infodata Systems, Inc. The field maintenance services to be performed
will include new releases of the Inquire/Text software package, patches
for the existing software and system bugs, new Inquire/Text manuals and
updates to existing manuals, incorporation of user defined
functionality, and a hotline service designed to provide rapid response
to customer requirements, access to experts on Inquire/Text, and answer
questions on databases content and design problems, query formulation
and analysis, operational difficulties, and the identification of
possible product errors. Since the Inquire/Text is a proprietary
software package, NLM has determined that Infodata Systems, Inc. is the
only firm capable of providing the field maintenance on this product.
All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered
by the National Library of Medicine. Telephone and fax requests will
