Shroff, ts144t@nih.gov. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) intends to negotiate an increased level of effort with Masi-Max Resources, Inc., on Contract N02-PC-55113. This level of effort, term contract provides support for NCI's tobacco research activities and involves 1) preparation of scientific documents and publications writing, editorial and graphic services; 2) planning, study design, data management and analysis support; 3) support for workshops and conferences and 4) liaison assistance. An additional level of effort is needed during the final contract year to assist the NCI in implementing an increase in upcoming tobacco control initiatives and related activities associated with cancer prevention. Inherent duplication of costs to the Government and unacceptable delays in continued implementation of this project make competition unfeasible for this contract action.
