Dry-dock, repair, and bottom paint the Training Vessel Kings Pointer, an Ex Navy T-Agos-2 CONTENDER, length 224_ beam 43_ displacement, full load 2,285 long tons, draft full load 15_. Classification :ABS unrestricted ocean service. Issue date of solicitation o/a 4/21/99. Work to commence on 5/25/99 and shall be completed by 6/11/99. Due to operational restrictions of the vessel, the geographical area for bidders is limited to the area from northern Maine to Key West Florida, on the eastern seaboard. Yards having a Maritime Administration and or a U.S. Navy Master Lump Sum Repair Contract, and all other responsible sources offering a contractor facility within the defined area, are invited to submit a bid which shall be considered by the Government. The Vessel shall be available for inspection during April 1999, Monday through Friday, 0830-1600. Inspection shall be by appointment only and can be arranged with Mr. Daniel Robson on (516) 773-5680. This notice is for information purposes for minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises: The Department of Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
