612-725-2189 Provide services of a Radiation Oncologist to Minneapolis
VA Medical Center's Therapeutic Radiology Department estimated at 25
hours per week. Duties will include consultative oversight of treatment
delivered in the Department to ensure practice reflects current
community standards; establish effective collaborative relationships
between the department and referring physicians/departments to include
instituting weekly or bi-weekly tumor board conferences; review
treatment provided by radiation oncologists to ensure practice reflects
current community standards; implement recommendation of Chief of Staff
in areas pertaining to clinical documentation, treatment protocols and
delivery and quality assurance. Contractor will report to the Chief of
Staff. Additionally, Option Line Items may include the need for current
physics staffing, with Offeror proposing physics coverage. Period of
contract will be six months from date of award, with three (3) options
to renew for three (3) additional 6-month periods, not to exceed a
total contract period of twenty-four months. All offers will be
referred to a Technical Evaluation Panel for review based on the
following: Management and consultation skills, clinical skills,
collaborative skills, availability, past performance and cost.
Solicitations are being requested under Public Law 104-262 The Veterans
Health Care Eligibility Reform Act of 1996 and Title 38 United State
Code Section 8153, with a Commercial Items format of terms, conditions,
and provisions/clauses. A PRE-BID CONFERENCE IS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 4,
1999 FROM 2:00 P.M. TO 3:30 P.M., DIRECTORS CONFERENCE ROOM, FOURTH
FLOOR, VA MEDICAL CENTER. Failure to attend the pre-bid conference and
tour the job site will not relieve the contractor to whom award is
made from performing all work in accordance with the contract.
