This is a Solicitation for Sources capable of design, fabrication and testing of Titanium agitators for installation & use at the Aberdeen Chemical Agent Disposal Facility in Edgewood, MD. DESIGN AND FABRICATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to design and fabricate Titanium agitators for 8' high by 6'6" diameter reactor vessels and Titanium static mixers that create an average 100 micron droplet size in a 150 GPM recirculation loop for the reactor vessel. The manufacturer will be provided with relevant physical and chemical properties of the materials to be mixed and the proposed mixing conditions. The designer should be able to demonstrate the ability to create the required 100 micron (or smaller) droplet size at full scale, prior to fabrication of the Titanium units. TESTING: Ability to test a full-scale reactor (8 ft. high by 6'6" diameter)/agitator combination with a recirculation loop (150 Gallons per Minute) that contains a static mixer. The tester should have the ability to determine the average droplet sizes within the reactor, and at the inlet and outlet of the static mixer. The test will employ a simulant to the chemicals identified in the Design and Fabrication requirements, and will be used to verify the theoretical agitator and static mixer designs prior to fabrication. SCOPE OF SUPPLY: Full scale, or near full scale, system testing. Six (6) Titanium static mixers -- designed for a flowrate of 150 GPM. Six (6) Titanium agitators -- designed for 8' x 6'6" diameter reactor vessel.
