Dillard E-MAIL: SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston, mclauria@spawar.navy.mil. This
sources sought announcement is issued for the purpose of identifying
sources for 8 Automated Surface Observing Systems (part #
62828-40300-10), 3 Meteorological Discontinuity Systems (part #
62828-90111-10/4500137), 25 lightning sensors for ASOS
(62828-90423-20), and 25 temperature humidity sensors (62402-40019-28).
Systems should meet 200v/m requirement from 1GHz to 40GHz EMI
requirement. Systems must have redundant power supplies for all DC
voltages, redundant CPUs, back up UPS able to operate system and all
sensors for 10 minutes. Systems should be capable of an automatic power
down procedure. Systems must have redundant capable communication
capability. System must be capable of dialing and downloading from a
remote server all site-specific information used in the algorithms for
calculated information. All algorithms must conform to the ASOS
standard as currently used by the U.S. Navy. Pressure sensors must be
redundant and software must cross check sensor readings and eliminate
readings from faulty sensor. Interface capability to existing navy
equipment must be maintained (VIDS, MIDDS, ID2446 AFOS). Meteorological
discontinuity groups must comply with current ASOS software and
integration. Temperature/ humidity sensors (Aspirated 62402-40017-28)
and lightning sensors (62828-90423-20) should be fully integrated with
existing ASOS software. Request information regarding specifications,
capabilities, and price of currently manufactured commercially
