Architect/Engineer services for preparation of working drawings and specifications, cost estimate, submittal review and other construction period services for Project 670-99-102, Patient Privacy, Phase I, at the VA Medical Center, Syracuse, New York. This project will convert four (4) four-bed rooms into semi-private bedrooms with a fully accessible handicapped bathroom. Modifications include general demolition and construction of new walls as necessary. Relocation and/or modification of existing HVAC, plumbing and electrical to conform with the new layout is required. Bathrooms will conform with ADA requirements and will receive new tile wall and floor finishes. Bathrooms will consist of a new toliet, sink and shower area as well as grab bars, paper towel dispensers and lockers. Drawings will be CADD generated with Auto Cadd. Specifications shall be compiled from VA master specifications which are available on the Internet. Selection will be based on specialized experience, capability of the firm to perform, professional qualifications of the staff to be assigned to the projects and past record of performance in the form of a comparison between their estimates and actual project amounts. The area of consideration is restricted to firms within a 165 mile radius of the medical center. Appropriate data for this project must be submitted on forms SF 254 and SF 255 no later than May 14, 1999. Submission should emphasize experience in similar projects.
