To encourage greater responsiveness and accountability at all levels of governance, the Mission has focused on four major inter-related intermediate results: increasing the participation of civil society organizations in public decision-making and government oversight; enhancing the capability of the Palestinian Legislative Council to perform functions of a legislative body; supporting more effective Executive Authority legislative and public policy-making; and putting in place the foundation for decentralized local government.
