202-708-9771 The Department of Education anticipates that one sole
source contract will be awarded to Manpower Demonstration Research
Corporation(MDRC) 16 East 34th Street, New York, NY 10016-4326. The
work will be completed over a period of 4 years. The purpose of this
study is to build on the Evaluation of the Career Academies by
examining the effects the academies have on student's postsecondary
education and employment outcomes and to gain a better understanding of
the connections between student's experiences during high school and
their education and employment experiences after high school. It is
imperative that the contractor have the following: DATA data collected
from the 10 high schools funded by private foundations. No other
organization, except MDRC would have the right to use or build on these
data. MDRC owns the data if the government needs to have the data
analyzed, MDRC is the only organization that can do it. MDRC has
developed a unique relationship with these highschools. They have
worked very closely with designated personnel and principals to become
part of these academies, schools within schools, in order to observe
classes and get to know the students who are participating in these
academies. MDRC is uniquely qualified to address the needs for the
study since they have the skills, experiences and competencies. Any
business or firm who thinks that they are qualified and able to perform
this procurement should submit a detailed written capability statement
