Project work includes removal of shoal from the bottom of channel and the repairs of eroded areas on the levee banks. Shoal removal will be required in the Portugues Entrance Channels to the debris basin. The total length of the channels is approximately 10,700 feet. A total of approximately 122,850 cubic yards of shoal material will be placed in the original disposal areas adjacent to the channels. Levee and channel repairs will be made to separate sites as indicated on the site plan. Repairs will include the retrieval of stone from the channel bottom, fill placement to restore the original levee and channel sections where damaged, and the restoration of stone revetment and gabions. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Pre-Solicitation Notice was issued 15 Apr 99. Invitation will be issued on or about 3 May 99 and open on or about 2 Jun 99.
