D -- TELECAST AND SUMMARY REPORT SOL RFQ90090-NS DUE 050399 POC Patricia Haun, Purchasing Agent, 301-402-4509 The National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH) plans to procure telecast and a summary report information from The Jackson Laboratory, 600 Main St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609, to provide a symposium entitled "The Genetics Revolution in the New Millenium Science, Practice and Policy" which is taking place on July 30, 1999. The NCI Director and NIH Director will be speaking at and participating in the Annual Short Course at Jackson Laboratory. This is a unique opportunity for prominent biomedical investigators, clinicians, advanced graduate students and teachers to exchange ideas and learn the latest advances in genetics. The symposium brings together some of the greatest minds in the field of genetics and biomedicine and will serve as a forum to discuss the future of genetics over the next 40 years. The conference is pertinent to the fields of genetics, neuroscience, metabolism. Thus, a broad spectrum of view points will be presented. Questions and answers from the panels will generate many ideas and insights. Given the breadth of the subject matter and participants, NCI requires the information that will be presented to assist in ongoing and future research and to train/educate the NIH community about the latest advances in genetics. Therefore, a telecast to NIH for training purposes, and a summary report of the proceedings as a resource is required. Furthermore, the meeting report will encompass the exchanges for others to review at NIH as they perform pertinent research. Since Jackson Laboratory is hosting this meeting, they are the only known source that can provide the telecast and summary document to NCI or set up arrangements for such communication. This notice is for informational purposes only. It is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities.
