The Design/Build team will be responsible for completing the design and constructing these structures. The Contractor will be responsible for selecting the methodology, means and associated equipment to safely and satisfactorily complete the work. In general, the principal structures include the following underground workings: -approximately 13,800 feet of twin running tunnels generally spaced 85 feet apart including a subaqueous crossing approximately 1300 feet in length; -two deep subterranean transit stations; -a crossover structure connecting the twin tunnels and located between the transit stations (the structure is approximately 1100 feet long); -eighteen to twenty cross passages connecting the twin tunnels spaced at 750 feet; and -one ventilation shaft and headhouse structure Posted 04/16/99 (W-SN321456).
