Spare Parts for the Pioneer Unmanned Aerial Vehicle SOL N00421-99-R-1335 DUE 06/09/99 POC Jennifer Alvey, Contract Specialist, (301)757-9074 The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland, intends to contract with Pioneer UAV, Incorporated for spare parts for the Pioneer Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) System. The Pioneer UAV Program currently supports the Navy and Marine Corps by providing logistic support to the fleet users. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis with Pioneer UAV, Incorporated, P.O. Box 738, Hunt Valley, Maryland 21030-0738. Pioneer UAV, Incorporated is a joint venture between AAI Corporation, Hunt Valley, Maryland and Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI), Tel Aviv, Israel. AAI and IAI are the developers and sole suppliers of these Pioneer components. Therefore, Pioneer UAV, Incorporated is the only firm possessing the requisite technical expertise and data rights to produce these spare parts for the Pioneer UAV System. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
