The Operational Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Vaisala of Woburn MA for ground measuring equipment for weather/ wind metrics and paramenters. The action is for supplies which the Air Force will solicit from one source under FAR 6.302. If any firm feels that they can meet this requirement they may submit a quotation to the contracting office. The description of the item is a ground station using global positioning satellite system to record sonde position and wind data. Any system procured must be compatible with VIZ W9000 and enhancements over that system. The government intends to acquire this item as a commercial item under FAR part 12. Interested parties have within 7 days of the date of this Notice to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/ capabilities and technical specifications. Such qualifications and capabilities will be used solely for determining whether to issue compete this procurement on a full and open competition basis.If the Contracting Officer decides to compete this solicitation, no further Notice will be published.
