M -- INFORMATION HANDLING AND SUPPORT FACILITY SERVICES POC Harold Miles (Contract Specialist) 202/512-3607 The U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) hereby provides notice of intent to issue a sole-source contract extension to Lockheed Martin Services, Inc., Cherry Hill, NJ for the purpose of continuing the operation of GAO's document support facility and functions related to the storage, control, and distribution of GAO audit reports, legal decisions, and other special publications. This extension is estimated to run for a six-month period from October 1, 1999 to March 31, 2000. The major functions performed include, but are not limited to: document database creation and maintenance; VAX operations and DRS database programming and maintenance; indexing and abstracting, production of special publications and bibliographies; planned and demand distribution of GAO audit/non-audit/legal decisions; customer database maintenance; document storage, inventory, and reproduction; and miscellaneous other related system support requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals. This contract extension is being approved under 41 USC 253 ( c ) (1) as the current contractor is the only known source able to satisfy the agency's needs during this period. There is no solicitation requirement to review. This six-month extension is necessary for GAO to complete competitive action through GSA's FEDSIM organization.
