This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Item 1 -- One (1) each of a Sum Frequency Generation Crystal with the following salient features: Flatness: <=lambda/8 @ 633nm; Parallelism: <=15 arc-seconds; Scratch/dig: <=20/5. UV grade (no veils) Beta Barium Borate (BBO), Hard Aperture: 10 x 10; Crystal Length: 11 mm. Type II Interaction: 532nm (e) + 803nm (o) ->320nm(e). Best possible polish quality on BBO surfaces mounted in 1" diameter housing with ceramic 'blast' shields to withstand spillover of input beams. Crystal AR coating: Sol Gel @ 803 & 532nm in & 320nm out. Input window AR: Hardened Sol Gel @ 803 & 532 nm. Output window AR: Hardened Sol Gel @ 320nm. Housing shall be assembled in a 'dry' environment. Clearly label optic axis input face on housing. Housing shall be capable of having a nitrogen purge. Item 2 -- Two (2) each. The same as item 1, except for the following: Hard Aperture: 10 x 10; Crystal Length: 15mm. (NASA must be informed of the projected AR coated losses at 803 nm). Item 3 -- One (1) each of a XH1015- Beta Barium Borate (BBO) -Type II Optical Parametric Oscillator with the following salient features: Pump: 532nm; Idler: 1954-1576nm; Signal: 732- 802nm; Flatness: <lambda/8 @633nm; Parallelism: <=15 arc seconds; Scratch/dig: <=20/5; Standard BBO material; Hard Aperture: 10 x 10mm; Crystal Length: 15mm; Crystal AR coating: lambda/4 layer @1576-1954. Laser grade polish quality on BBO surfaces mounted in 1" diameter housing with ceramic 'blast' shields to withstand spillover of input beams. The housing shall have purge ports on housing to allow a nitrogen purge. Item 4 -- One (1) lot charge for hardened Sol Gel AR coating. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-10.
