Lambert (612) 370-2113 The USDA, Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS),
Cotton Division, Memphis, TN, intends to acquire 14,950 poly spiral
bale bags for flat bales, 68" or 70" x 100" OR 14,950 spiral sewn
burlap bale bags for flat bales, 68" or 70" x 100", and 13,550 wire
bale ties, 10 gauge, 10" 3", 6 wires each pattern, and 500 wire bale
ties, 10 gauge, 10", 6 wires each pattern, and Unit of Issue is "each".
All items shall meet the specifications as stated in the Cotton Bale
Packaging Material Specifications, 1996, published by the Joint Cotton
Industry Bale Packaging Committee. Bidders shall submit one sample
poly sprial bale bag, one spiral sewn burlap bale bag, and one pattern
of each type of wire bale ties to the USDA for approval prior to
contract award. Delivery to the following States: Abilene, TX; Corpus
Christi, TX; Dumas, AZ; Florence, SC; Lamesa, TX; Lubbock, TX; Macon,
GA; Memphis, TN; Pelham, AL: Phoenix, AZ; Rayville, LA; Visalia, CA.
For the period beginning August 1, 1999 through September 1, 1999.
F.O.B. Destination. Firm-Fixed price contract. This solicitation number
99-3343 is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items
prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented
with additional information included in this notice. This is issued as
a Invitation For Bid and constitutes the only solicitation; bids are
being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This
solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses which are in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11. Applicable FAR
clauses are incorporated by reference: Prompt Payment 52.249-1 (4/84);
Fixed price 52.243-1 (8/87); Evaluation -- Commercial items 52.212-2
(10/97); Offeror Representations and Certifications 52.212-3(10/98);
Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or
