7131&LocID=135. E-MAIL: Amy Poling, apoling@nhtsa.dot.gov. The National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) intends to issue a
competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) for the services of exploring,
clarifying or resolving human factors issues that require driver
behavior and performance data collection involving on-the-road field
settings as well as the National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS). The
type of data needed may include estimates of the prevalence and
operational features of subsystems that drivers choose to use,
comparisons of driver behavior and performance when performing specific
maneuvers using vehicle systems, naturalistic driving assessments,
assessments of driver preferences for vehicle design features and
examining the safety consequence and benefits of using various advanced
technologies. In addition, the development and implementation of
various human factors test procedures (e.g., evaluation protocols) or
systems (e.g., ITS devices, advanced mirrors or lighting) for
demonstration to NHTSA staff and other designated personnel may be
required. It is contemplated that an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC)
on a Time and Material basis will be awarded for this effort. A period
of performance for thirty-six (36) months is contemplated for this
procurement with options for two (2) additional twelve month periods.
Electronic copies of the RFP will be available at the GSA Electronic
Posting Service (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov. Requests for paper copies
of the RFP must be in writing to the address above, the e-mail address
identified in the Point of Contact section, or to FAX number
202-366-9555. The anticipated issue date of the RFP is on or about May
12, 1999. Posted 04/20/99 (D-SN322166). (0110) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0006 19990422\B-0001.SOL)
