The work is situated in Tracy, California. The principal features of the work to be performed under these specifications include the following: (a) demolishing and removing existing pavement, (b) exposing the backside of the 27-foot long retaining wall section by excavating existing compacted backfill material. The bottom 4 vertical feet shall be excavated to the neat lines of the concrete block required to be formed. Slopes above elevation 0.50 (top of new concrete block) shall be excavated at 1:1 up to existing grade, (c) removing one existing crane rail (the once nearest the retaining wall) by saw cutting it 15 feet back from the retaining wall. Demolishing and removing the rail footing. Removing and salvaging the rail stop. Placing a new concrete footing identical to the existing and reinstalling the rail and rail stop after the repair work is complete. The new footing will be required to be notched to avoid interference with the wall support tieback system, (d) furnishing and driving two H-piles, (e) furnishing and installing two structural steel wall braces, (f) drilling holes in existing wall and spread footing and install undercut anchors, (g) replumbing the retaining wall (water side of the wall vertical), (h) pressure washing and grouting the crack at the base of the wall, (i) furnishing and placing reinforcing steel (including couplings to the concrete anchors) and concrete for the repair block, (j) after allowing the concrete to cure 14 days, placing and compacting backfill, and (k) repaving.
