Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement to procure Hose
Assemblies. The Hose Assemblies shall be manufactured in accordance
with SAE J1942, Hoses & Hose Assemblies for Marine Application, and SAE
J1942/1, Qualified Hoses for Marine Application, for marine hydraulic
service. Application Code H, size 3/8 ID, minimum working pressure 1500
PSI. Hose fittings shall match the type of hose selected in SAE J1942/1
and attached to both ends of the Hose Assembly. The Hose fittings shall
be in accordance with SAE J1475, Hydraulic Hose Fittings for Marine
Application, stainless steel crimp-on style, SAE 37 degree J.I.C.
swivel 9/16"-18X-06 hose. All hose material shall not be more than one
year old from the date of manufacture. ONLY THOSE HOSE ASSEMBLIES
LISTED IN SAE J1942/1 THAT DO NO REQUIRE FIRE SLEEVES, SHALL BE
ACCEPTABLE! All Hose Assemblies shall be hydrostatically tested at its
proof pressure in accordance with SAE J343, Test & Procedures for
Hydraulic Hose Assemblies, with no leakage. After testing, all Hose
Assemblies shall be flushed with clean fresh hot water not to exceed
150 degree F for a period of 5 minutes then blown through with dry
compressed air. A plastic plug shall be installed in each fitting. Each
Hose Assembly shall be tagged in accordance with MIL-P-15024, to
identify its length, hydrotest pressure, and test date. The Coast Guard
reserves the right to witness all tests at the Contractor's facility
upon request. The quantities to be ordered are as follows: (1) 193 each
Hoses, 12' 10" long end to end length; (2) 193 each Hoses, 12' 2" long
end to end length; and (3) 193 each Hoses, 10' long end to end length.
The Contractor shall also be required to submit a Letter of
Certification verifying that the Hose Assemblies offered meet the
requirements of SAE J1942 and SAE J1942/1. Delivery of the Hoses shall
be staggered as follows: (1) 53 of each hose length 30 days after the
date of award; (2) 70 of each hose length 60 days after the date of
award; and the balance of 70 of each hose length 90 days after the date
of award. Hoses shall be stacked on three separate pallets according to
their lengths. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to the U.S. Coast
Guard Engineering Logistics Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore,
MD 21226-5000. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which
