Monk, Contracting Officer, (410) 762-6456 The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking sources that can lease a pier/bulkhead/wharf facility in the Baltimore, MD metropolitan are for the maintenance and renovation work of its Polar class Icebreakers. The Coast Guard requires sufficient clearance alongside to berth a 400-ft. long X 84-ft. beam vessel with a minimum of 28-ft. water depth MLW, with 30 ft. preferable. Pierside "laydown" area for material storage, conex tool sheds, possible office trailer, approximately 200 sq. ft. Accessible parking for an average of 75 employees. Pier to be capable of supporting standard highway truck loading and outrigger loading of a 35 ton mobile crane. Utility access for electric: 480V, 3 phase, 1000 amps and 110V, single phase, 100 amps; water: Potable, adequate pressure for firefighting, sewage connection; phone: up to 10 lines. Pier facility to be within 20 miles of the U.S. Coast Guard YARD complex. The Coast Guard estimates leasing the period for a period of four years commencing in April 2001.
