Y -- LARSEN LANE (EQUIPMENT RENTAL), CITY OF CASTLE ROCK SOL DACW57-99-B-0012 DUE 052419 POC Nancy Carter 503-8-8-4611 The Portland District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award an equipment rental contract for construction of bank erosion protective works and levee embankment at Larsen Lane, located along the left bank of Cowlitz River at River Mile 15.3. The erosion affects approximately 700 linear feet of bankline along Larsen Lane. The site is located on the outskirts of the City of Castle Rock, Cowlitz County, Washington. The work consists of: a) placement of quarry stone to form three "barb" structures in the river channel; b) placement of gravel filter underlayer on the portion of the barbs that key into the bank; c) excavation of the oversteepened riverbank slopes between the barbs to form a one (1) vertical to two (2) horizontal slope; d) clearing, grubbing and stripping of ground on which levee embankment will be placed; e) placement of embankment for excavated material to form a levee section; f) transport and disposal of excess excavated material; g) placement of soil blanket into the native embankment materials and excavated riverward slope. Contractor shall furnish specified labor, equipment and materials and conduct work under the direction of an Corps Project Engineer. Work shall commence on or about August 5, 1999 and end on or about September 3, 1999. The time stated includes final cleanup of the premises. IFB will be available on or about May 24, 1999 with a tentative bid opening on June 23, 1999. Estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. This project is 100% set-aside for small business concerns the size standard for which is a concern including all affiliates, with average annual sales or receipts for the preceding three years not in excess of $5 million.
