DELAWARE RIVER, DELAWARE SOL DACW61-99-B-0015 DUE 060899 POC Sandi Fletcher, Contract Specialist, (215) 656-6915 The contract work consists of Reconstruction of a deteriorated Breakwater on an island in the Delaware River. Construction consists of mobilization and transportation of barges, equipment and materials to the island. Remove existing timber piles and trees located within the footprint of the new breakwater. Remove and relocate cannon mount base stones, large grill timbers, cut stones and slab walkway stones to designated locations on the island. Prepare existing river bottom surface. Provide and place underlay stones and armor stones over geotextile fabric to form a new breakwater. Provide Unexpected Ordinance (UXO) team for detecting and locating UXO. Install sound recording devices to monitor construction generated noise. Plant new trees to replace removed trees. Locate and report archaeological and historical artifacts found during construction, and relocate on the island as directed. One copy of the plans and specifications will be furnished on CD-ROM to each bidder at no charge. Bidders will be responsible for paper copies. Issue date for solicitation documents will be on or about 7 May 1999 with a bid opening date of 8 June 1999 at 11:00 a.m. Additional copies of the CD-ROM will be provided at a charge of $5.00 each. All requests for additional copies of the CD-ROM should be in writing along with a company check which must include your Federal Tax Identification Number, or a Personal Check with Social Security Number or a Driver's License or Money Order, all made payable to "USACE FINANCE CENTER, MILLINGTON." Payment will not be refunded and CD's need not be returned. Please provide a physical street address, telephone number and fax number. Completion time for the project is 150 calendar days. Estimated cost range of the project is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. All contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database prior to award of the contract. Instructions will be provided in the solicitation. Award of contract will be made as a whole to one bidder. Liquidated damages will be specified.
