59 -- INDUSTRY PACK CARRIERS AND MODULES SOL RFQ-BF3350 DUE 050499 POC Rena Cerbone, Contracting Officer, Telephone 617/495-7445, Fax 617/495-7485, or email: rcerbone@cfa.harvard.edu The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) intends to award on a Sole Source basis, a purchase order to SBS Greenspring of Menlo Park, CA for the following items: twenty (20) each P/N: VIPC618 Industry Pack carrier for 6U VMEbus; thirty-one (31) each P/N: IP-UNIDIG-E, Industry Pack with 24 Digital I/O and LineSafe ESD protection circuitry; fifteen (15) each P/N:IP-OPTOAD16- BPV-1, Industry Pack providing 16 single ended or 8 differential channels of optically isolated 16 bit A/D conversion; seven (7) each P/N: IP-OPTODA16-4CH, Industry Pack with 4 channels of optically isolated 16 bit analog outputs; and two (2) each P/N: IP-488, IEEE-488 Instrumentation Support interface. Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory is currently using SBS Greenspring IP Carriers and Industry Packs in the Master Reference Generator and IF/LO assemblies for its Submillimeter Array Project (SMA). The items as specified are required for compatibility with existing hardware and software design. A determination by SAO not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of SAO. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Delivery is six (6) weeks ARO. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). No written solicitation will be issued for this requirement.
