Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to negotiate a sole
source indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with
COMPAQ Computer Corporation, 20555 SH249, Houston, Texas 77070-2698,
for an estimated quantity of 4 AEGIS Combat System Interface Simulation
(ACSIS) Systems, including software, installation, support and
warranty. This requirement is a follow on to contract N00178-98-C-2020
awarded to Digital Equipment Corporation. Each system shall be
delivered as an operational system and shall consist of commercial
multi-vendor hardware from COMPAQ and other manufacturers, and
commercial software from COMPAQ integrated into an operational system.
Each system shall be delivered with documentation and on-site
warranty. The systems shall be operational ACSIS configurations
comprised of multi-vendor Virtual Machine Environment (VME) Naval
Tactical Data Systems (NTDS) interfaces, VME interfaces, cable
harnesses, connectors, and other miscellaneous commercial interfaces.
The design is based on the Digital Equipment Corporation CT-
ACSIS-01/02/03 customized systems. The contractor must provide software
engineering services for update to the custom drivers, diagnostics and
configuration utilities to provide an operational system. The systems
as identified shall perform NTDS communication via the VME NTDS
interfaces which must functionally pass data to and receive data from
AN/UYK-43 Tactical computers to simulate AEGIS ship board functions.
The host system shall consist of a rack mounted Alpha Server 8400
configuration with three dual processor CPUs at the most current
operational level and at least two 512 MEGABYTE memory modules. The
system shall be capable of high speed PCI to VME interface and FDDI
interface. All electrical and interface cabling and adapters shall be
incorporated. All components shall be supplied with the appropriate
commercial documentation, i.e., user guides, installation guides,
configuration guides, etc., any associated software and licenses as
required. The intended vendors and make/model items are identified as
follows: Host system COMPAQ ( formerly Digital Equipment Corporation),
Bus Analyzer -- VMETRO VBT-325B with Cable Package, NTDS A/B with on
board RAM (530-2013-001) by Visicom, NTDS E with on board RAM
(530-2017-001) by Visicom, NTDS E A/B Sabtech Hawke, Eagle and CONDOR,
HP743-RT Processor Card, option 203 -- 100MHZ, no graphics, Hewlett
Packard, with 2 each 64 MB RAM card, RS232 cable, Ethernet LAN cable,
and SCSI cable -- A4261A w/option 203 & 2 ea. A4266A, VME FDDI DAS I/F
w/ST connector & cable by Performance Technologies --
PT-VME600A-10521, VME VIDEO and 75 ohm video cable by DY4 Corporation
-- SVME-770-000. The Low Level Serial (LLS) Subpanel chassis mount
connectors must be compatible to Trumpeter connector part number
TL80-14A. All parallel chassis mount connectors must match militarized
92 pin M28840/16AG1 S1 and S2 connectors except for the NSCC system
which is 85 pin. Note 22 applies. All responsible sources may submit a
