The synopsis for this requirement was originally posted in the CBDnet on March 11, 1999. This synopsis amends the 3/11/99 synopsis to revise the award strategy. This requirement will remain a competitive 8(a) set-aside, with an assigned National Buy number of 0353-99-900336 as approved by the Small Business Administration. Following the competitive 8(a) competition, (1) the service/ engineering and operational support services portion of this requirement will be awarded on a multiple award basis to eligible 8(a) vendors as part of multiple award, non-commercial item contracts; (2) the service/hardware and software maintenance portion of this requirement will be awarded to a single 8(a) vendor as part of a non-commercial item contract; and, (3) the supply portion of this requirement [the hardware and software acquisition] will be awarded on a multiple award basis to eligible 8(a) vendors as part of multiple award, commercial item contracts. Offerors may propose on all three portions of this requirement, or they may propose solely on one or two of the portions. The three different portions will be evaluated and awarded separately. The SIC code for the service/engineering and operational support services portion of this acquisition is 7373 with a size standard of $18 million, while the SIC code for the service/hardware and software maintenance portion of this acquisition is 7378 with a size standard of $18 million, and the SIC code for the supply portion of this acquisition is 5045 with a size standard of 100 employees. Only eligible 8(a) small business concerns qualifying under the appropriate 7373, 7378, and/or 5045 SIC code(s) shall submit a prime contractor proposal(s) under this requirement, since this procurement has been approved by the SBA as a competitive 8(a) set-aside.
