Medical Logistics Command has a requirement for a sports medicine
research and marketing assistant for Greater Hampton Roads Cooperative
Administrative Support Unit (GHR-CASU) and its affiliated member, Navy
Environmental Health Center (NEHC). The Navy intends to negotiate with
Ms. Jackie Santisteban as the only one responsible source. Procurement
of these services on an other than full and open competition basis is
anticipated from Ms. Santisteban. This notice is not a request for
competitive proposals. The assistant must have comprehensive experience
in working with all US Military Service Branches. The assistant will
provide professional, research, administrative, technical and marketing
support to services to facilitate their objective of identifying and
implementing physical fitness and injury prevention programs. Support
services will be used to assist in improving the mission readiness of
sailors, improving the awareness and importance of physical fitness,
and in identifying injury prevention best practices that can be modeled
to decrease attrition rates caused by injuries. The assistant will:
research and identify best practice programs throughout the US Military
Services; write a report which includes a summary, background of the
DOD Injury/Occupational Illness Prevention Plan and sections on Navy,
Air Force, Army and Marine Corps Injury Prevention; complete a
PowerPoint presentation as an overview of the 10 Best Practices
inclusive of all service branches; write a report of Navy Injury
Prevention/Physical Fitness Programs; develop a NEHC Physical Fitness
Press Release Kit & Publication of information; design and manage the
acquisition of a free standing promotional display for conferences;
develop promotional presentation materials for use at conferences and
by senior leadership; develop template and script for promotional video
and CD ROM; and design enhancement of Web Page. The assistant will
operate from her home office and other locations as required. Travel
will be required on minimum of 3 occasions to the Washington DC/VA
area. The assistant must: have experience with developing marketing
plans for US Armed Services; have a masters degree in Business
Administration or Marketing; have experience with sales and marketing
in the healthcare industry; have experience with software programs
Excel, MS Office and PowerPoint; have knowledge of the US Military
Medical System and the Navy's Health Promotion Program and Physical
Fitness initiatives. This procurement will be in accordance with FAR 6.
