Churchman, bchurch@pica.army.mil. The US Army TACOM-ARDEC Acquisition
Center and the Product Manager for Paladin/FAASV intend to issue a
Request for Proposals(RFP) for the M109 Family of Vehicles Fleet
Management Pilot Program. The pilot program will be a test bed to
evaluate the benefits of reengineering the sustainment process through
the full spectrum of operations from peace time through Major Theater
Warfare. The Fleet Manager will be the single point of contact for
M109 FOV weapon system support and all Class IX orders for the US Army,
US Army Reserve, Army National Guard and Foreign Military. Objectives
of the program include reduction of operation and sustainment costs,
improved response time to the customer, improved reliability of spare
and repair parts. Offerors are encouraged to incorporate innovative
business practices as part of their response. The Fleet Manager will be
the single point of contact for all spare and repair parts for the M109
FOV ONLY. The Government anticipates that an Industry Day will be help
subsequent to issuance of this requirement. Details will be provided
via a special notice in the CBD and to requests provided via email to
the POC included in the solicitation. A small business fair will be
included in this activity. Any small business interested in
participating in this fair should contact the point of contact in the
solicitation via email. THERE WILL BE NO HARD COPIES OF THIS
SOLICITATION PROVIDED; NO REQUESTS FOR SAME WILL BE HONORED. The
solicitation will be available at the following address:

will be located at the Fleet Management website. In addition applicable
technical data will be mailed directly to qualified bidders --
qualifications for receipt of this data will be included in the
solicitation. The anticipated release date for the solicitation is on
or about 26 February 1999. The applicable SIC code for this effort is
