The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) intends to negotiate with and issue a sole source contract to Sociometrics, Inc. for a five year project entitled, "Teen Pregnancy Data." This project includes the continued development, expansion, maintenance and distribution of the NATASHA and PASHA archives of data sets on adolescent pregnancy and pregnancy prevention. These archives consist of extant data with all identifiers removed and residing in SPSS files. Sociometrics, Inc. will continue to be responsible for training users of the archives and for publicity about the archives at appropriate venues. Inherent duplication of cost to the Government, unacceptable delays in the re-creation and necessary expansion of the archives and the proprietary nature of the product make competition unfeasible for this project.
