Presolicitation Notice. Site work includes removal and disposal of
topsoil and sub-grade from area scheduled to receive a concrete floor
slab, sidewalk, and approach slab. New work shall consist of
preparation of existing sub-grade, excavation, backfill and bedding for
all proposed underground utilities(includes water main, fire
protection, sanitary sewer, natural gas, and storm drainage), and
concrete sidewalks and approach slabs. The facility will be constructed
of; masonry bearing walls with reinforced concrete strip footing; white
thermoplastic single ply roof membrane over rigid insulation and a
metal deck supported on sloped open web steel joists and ceiling
enclosure above toilet room will consist of metal deck supported on a
steel beam spanning between masonry walls; interior walls will be paint
over block filler on concrete masonry; floors will have either
maintenance coating of epoxy mastic or vinyl composition floor tile;
ceilings will be either exposed roof structure or painted gypsum board;
and exterior walls will be painted concrete masonry. Fire protection
system will consist of a hydraulically designed automatic sprinkler
system and portable fire extinguishers rated for flammable liquids. The
building will be mechanically heated and ventilated utilizing ceiling
mounted gas fired unit heaters with a ventilation fan and electric unit
heater for toilet room. Plumbing shall include piping for natural gas
unit heaters; compressed air lines; water lines for two hose bibbs,
exterior freeze-proof wall hydrants, electric water heater; service
sink; and safety shower/eye wash unit; provide sanitary drainage; and
domestic hot and cold water service. Electrical underground service
will be from existing 500 kVA transformer to a new demand/usage kW
meter located at the building service entrance; provide 250A, 480V, 3
phase, 3W distribution panel with main disconnect; power distribution
shall include 480V-280/120V transformer, 100A,208/120V, 3 phase, 4 wire
distribution panel and a 480V panel board; fire alarm system consisting
of smoke or heat detectors, horn/strobes, and annunciation at the fire
alarm control center located at the fire station; battery powered exit
signs; ground fault interrupting receptacles and general purpose
receptacles; telephone outlet; interior lighting shall be
energy-efficient flourescent fixtures and wall mounted HID lighting
controlled by photocell; security card reader system. Additional
requirements to provide utilities required to support operation of
government furnished bead blast booth and poaint spray booth consisting
of compressed air system, doors, lighting, blowers, ducts, electrical
panels, controls and other required accessories. Technical questions

Total estimate for this project is between $250,000.00 and
$500,000.00. This is a pre-solicitation phase, do not send payment
until the solicitation is issued. The cost for the solicitation package
will be announced in the solicitation notice. The standard industrial
classification (SIC) code is 1542. The applicable small business size
standard including affliates is no more than $17 million average annual
revenue for the previous three years. This procurement is full and open
competition but will be subject to the SDB bonding evaluation
preference procedures. Solicitation packages will be available
approximately May 18, 1999 with the bid opening thirty days later.
Requests for packages must be in writing, no telephone or facsimile
requests will be accepted. Requests for Planholder lists can be faxed.
All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered.
