E-MAIL: Mary E. McKaig, Mary.E.McKaig.1@gsfc.nasa.gov. NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of a BOC Edwards Model M150S Exhaust Gas Conditioning System. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from BOC Edwards of Wilmington, MA. The equipment will be installed in the mechanical room of the Detector Development Laboratory (DDL) for the abatement and conditioning of ammonia gas residues, which will be used in the LPCVD tool installed in the DDL. NASA/GSFC owns and operates two identical units installed in the DDL. The alarm interfaces of these units were custom built to accommodate OSHA and GSFC safety requirements for the installation of hazardous process gases in the lab. In order to maintain uniformity and parallelism of the building safety systems, it is necessary to purchase the same equipment. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities with respect to being able to provide the model of equipment mentioned. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
