The 45th Contracting Squadron intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Schafer Corp., Chelmsford, MA, on behalf of the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), Materials Directorate, for equipment set-up, calibration, and maintenance in support of the Nuclear Products Program (NPP). The primary purpose of this acquisition is to provide interim storage and maintenance of GFE from the closed McClellan Laboratory This sole source acquisition is justified under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), only one or a limited number of responsible sources and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Due to the sensitivity of the GFE and Schafer's close proximity to the closed McClellan Lab the 45th Contracting Squadron has determined that moving the equipment to Shafer's facility will limit the potential for damage to the equipment. Evaluation of the contractor's close proximity, unique capability and acquisition history concluded that the specialized effort required is available from onlyone source. The SIC for this acquisition is 8734 and Small Business size standard is $5.0 million. No solicitation documents exists at this time.
