THE ORIGINAL SPECIAL NOTICE WAS PUBLISHED AS SUBMISSION NO. 324364. -- -Small Business Conference -- "Partnering for Commerce," May 20-21, 1999 The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Contracts Management and Office of Community Liaison is sponsoring a Small Business Conference on May 20, 1999 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and May 21, 1999 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The conference will be held at the William H. Natcher Conference Center, located at 45 Center Drive on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. The conference program includes the following activities: workshops, including "Technology for Business," "Contracting at the NIH," "New Federal initiatives" and more; instructional tutorials on topics ranging from "How to Get Paid" to "Access to Capital"; on-the-spot purchasing opportunities; a "hands-on" Information Technology Center; exhibits by prime contractors; one-on-one counseling; displays of community resources, and awarding of Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs). Companies providing products or services (not including personal services), will be able to submit quotes for various acquisition requirements on-site using Web-based technology. Companies can recognize partnering possibilities through networking. The registration fee is $70 until April 30. After May 1 and on-site, registration is $85. It is noted that early registrations are encouraged, since the acquisition requirements will be posted on the registration Web site, and the Registrants will have an opportunity to view them, and to also enter their quotes into the "bidding system" PRIOR to the Conference.
