Foss, 843/525-3527 extension The intention of this solicitation is to
obtain Carpet, Sheet Vinyl and Resilient Tile flooring replacement and
repairs at the Beaufort Naval Hospital Family Housing Units, the
Laurel Bay and Pine Grove Family Housing Units, the Laurel Bay Schools
1 and 2, and various other buildings aboard the Marine Corps Air
Station, Beaufort, South Carolina. If during the contract period
services are required at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island,
the government will modify the contract in accordance with the changes
clause. The contractor shall furnish all tools, labor, materials,
supplies, equipment, transportation, supervision, and management
necessary to install, replace, and/or repair carpet, sheet vinyl, and
resilient tile floor covering. The contractor shall provide the
majority of the carpet, carpet padding, sheet vinyl flooring, and all
of the vinyl composition floor tile and cove base molding (when
ordered). Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining a warehouse
facility which is suitable for storing carpet, carpet padding, and all
other contractor supplied materials, folklift, if required, for the
loading and/or unloading of carpet. The government may provide some
carpet, carpet padding, and/or sheet vinyl flooring for the contractor
to install in family housing units only. The government furnished
carpet, carpet padding, and sheet vinyl flooring will be available for
pickup and transport by the contractor from a storage site located a
maximum of ten miles from the family housing unit. This procurement
will be 100% set-aside to small business. The North American Industry
Classification System is 235520. This solicitation will be issued on or
about May 14, 1999, with a tenative closing date on or about June 24,
1999. The base period is October 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000 and
includes four one-year options. This solicitation will result in an
Indefinite Quantity contract. Arrangements to visit the site may be
