(ACS) to implement independent aft cockpit functionality in the F/A-18F
in order to optimize Weapon Systems Officer performance. The Naval Air
Systems Command intends to negotiate with McDonnell Douglas
Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Corporation, P.O.
Box 516 St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, for procurement of the development
of an Advanced Crew Station (ACS) to implement independent aft cockpit
functionality in the F/A-18F in order to optimize WSO performance. The
Effort is planned to begin in JAN 00 and will last for a period of 57
months. As the developer, designer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18
Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas is the only firm with the requisite
skills, knowledge of the F/A-18 Aircraft systems design and equipment
integration necessary to satisfy the Government requirements. This
